A diverse group of products for culturing cells in a mechanically active environment

 

The MechanoCulture product group is used for culturing cells in a mechanically active environment. This product group contains configurations to support single or multiple parallel tests using a variety of flexible membranes and scaffolds. The on-board controllers enable PC-independent execution of user-defined motion protocols.

 

MechanoCulture MP

 

The MechanoCulture MP is a high throughput system that uses vertically translating posts to biaxially stretch an array of 35 circular membranes. Each 7mm diameter membrane is isolated in its own well holding 0.6mL of media. The membrane array can be removed from the actuation assembly for inverted microscope imaging.

 

MechanoCulture B1

 

The MechanoCulture B1 imposes a biaxial stretch protocol on a 35mm circular sample that can be punched out of any user-supplied extensible sheet. The system supports both 3D scaffolds with embedded cells and 2D membranes with adhered cells. The chamber can be configured for 0.5-100mL of media.

 

MechanoCulture T6

 

The MechanoCulture T6 leverages a powerful 250N actuator for cartilage, ligament, and bone tissue engineering work. The T6 can uniaxially stretch up to 6 clamp-mounted specimens.

 

MechanoCulture W6

 

The MechanoCulture W6 employs profiled clamp plates to form a large sheet membrane into 12 test chambers. All 12 chambers can then be uniaxially stretched according to a user-specified protocol. Since the sheet membrane forms the bottom of the test chamber, the entire device can be positioned on an inverted microscope for in-process imaging.
